Replacing the previous Panamera Turbo, the new Turbo S is powered by an uprated 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 making 620 horsepower and 604 lb.-ft. of torque. These figures represent a significant bump in output compared to the outgoing Turbo (550 hp and 567 lb.-ft.).

This new engine enables the Panamera Turbo S saloon and Sport Turismo models to run from 0 to 60 mph, using Launch Control, in 2.9 seconds (3.0 seconds for the Panamera Turbo S Executive). This is only a marginal 0.5 seconds quicker than the previous Panamera Turbo models though. All Panamera Turbo S models reach a top track speed of 196 mph.

The twin-turbo V8 in the Panamera GTS now gets a 20 horsepower bump, churning out 473 hp and 457 lb.-ft. Porsche says the model’s throttle calibration has been tuned to mimic the responsiveness of a naturally aspirated engine. The standard Panamera models now feature a 2.9 litre twin-turbo engine making 325 hp, replacing the previous 3.0 litre single-turbo unit.
