Japanese carmaker Nissan on Wednesday unveiled its compact SUV Magnite which will be made in India for Indian and global markets. Designed in Japan, the Magnite is part of Nissan's 'Make in India, make for the world' strategy.

Design has been kept ‘vibrant a youthful’, says Nissan, with the all-LED front light package featuring L-shaped daytime running lights that sit below the slim headlights. The prominent grille features Nissan’s new brand logo.

Offering 205mm of ground clearance, Hill Start Assist technology, silver front and rear bumper skid plates, and functional roof rails, the CUV also features Nissan’s 360-degree Around View Monitor technology.

Inside, Nissan says the layout includes a high seating position and wide shoulder space between the driver and front passenger considering the CUV’s modest dimensions.

The carmaker also claims that rear passengers will enjoy a level of knee room usually found in vehicles one class above. The model, powered by 1.0-litre turbocharged engine, is scheduled to go on sale in India early next year and in other markets later.
