Hyundai Motor Company has launched its all-new fourth-generation Tucson compact SUV. With global sales of more than 7 million units since its introduction in 2004, the Tucson nameplate is among Hyundai’s most popular models. The fourth-generation global model will be available with a long-wheelbase and a short-wheelbase variant.

The new Tucson’s exterior styling follows Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design identity. It also features what Hyundai designers call ‘parametric dynamics’, or ‘kinetic jewel surface’ details, which essentially are a lot of chiseled character lines. The front fascia is dominated by the newly designed grille that is flanked by ‘half-mirror’ type daytime running lamps.

The design theme carries over to the rear where the full-width taillamp features triangular shapes that are only visible when lit, similar to the DRL on the front. The Hyundai logo at the back has been moved up and is integrated into the glass while the wiper also moves up and hides under the rear spoiler.

The cabin has also been completely redesigned with the broad dashboard blending seamlessly with the front doors and creating a wraparound effect for front seat occupants. The integrated centre fascia is vertically oriented.
