Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cabinet on Monday approved the four-year federal budget for 2023-2026 at total spending of Dh252.3 billion and incomes of Dh255.7 billion.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the general budget as he chaired a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi.
“The federal budget is sustainable and balanced and is the main driver of the union government and its development ambitions for the people of the UAE,” said Sheikh Mohammed.
The Cabinet meeting reviewed the UAE Railway project, the largest infrastructure project linking 11 cities, seven logistic centres and four international ports in the country.
The project, which will change the country’s infrastructure map, will be implemented in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and under the supervision of Sheikh Diab bin Mohamed bin Zayed.
The Cabinet reviewed the 50 years of the distinguished and stable relations between the UAE and Egypt which are today supported by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi.
Sheikh Mohammed issued directives to organise special celebrations to mark the deeply-rooted and exceptional ties binding the two brotherly nations and peoples.
Sheikh Mohammed also approved the UAE’s joining of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum and highlighted the UAE being re-elected for the sixth consecutive time to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The UAE has firmly established its presence in international organisations.
