Dubai is gearing up to welcome visitors from around the globe for Expo 2020, dubbed the World’s Greatest Show.

Ahead of opening day, on October 1, the emirate is preparing for the uptick in footfall in a number of ways including with about 122 smart gates at Dubai airports which now sport the Expo 2020 Dubai logo.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency & Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) – Dubai, said that the smart gates are the ones through which visitors to the UAE and Expo 2020 Dubai will pass at Dubai airports.

“Smart gates are considered the smartest and safest way for travellers in light of the [COVID-19] precautionary measures, and we hope that passengers will experience an exciting journey that they have never been familiar with before in any of the world's airports,” he said.

“Within a few days from now, the UAE and Dubai will be receiving the world for the long-awaited international event, Expo 2020 Dubai. We are pleased to be the first to receive millions of visitors to this exceptional event, and we assure every one of our complete readiness to provide an exceptional experience for passengers and Expo 2020 Dubai visitors,” he added.
