Dubai Shopping Festival
The 29th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) returns this winter with 38 days of daily and unmatched events, experiences and deals from 8 December 2023 to 14 January 2024, with something for everyone, every day, in just about every corner of the city. Look out for unmissable promotions and retail deals, a line-up of out-of-this-world entertainment, pop-up markets, unique dining experiences, drone shows, art events and installations, and spectacular sporting events, plus unbeatable raffles and prizes – with the chance to win a luxury apartment, cars and cash – alongside Dubai-wide gastronomical experiences and foodie moments. Some of the city’s favourite events and experiences also join the DSF calendar for the first time this year - including Sole DXB, the lifestyle and street culture festival, and the Emirates Classic Vehicle Show.
Children’s winter camp
Dubai Culture and Art Authority (Dubai Culture) presents a creative space for participants through Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children. The winter camp, themed ‘Unlock the power of art,’ will take place from 11 to 15 December and from 18 to 22 December. The camp features a range of artistic workshops enabling children to experience various art forms, including music, pottery, theatre, drawing and the art of Arabic calligraphy. All sessions take place at Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children.
Liwa Village extravaganza
Liwa Village is preparing for a unique celebration of Emirati culture, art, music, and adventure during its desert festival this month. The activities will be across seven main zones: Souk Oasis, Oasis, Valley, Pavilion, Carnival, Digital Station by Pubg and Main Stage. While there are plenty of F&B and retail options across the zones, the Main Stage will host talented local artists to elevate the melodic scene with their unique Arabic style. On December 9, the popular ‘Shailat’ genre will be performed by Saudi Bandar Bin Oweer and Ghareeb Al Mokhles. On December 16, Abdulla Al Rouished and Ali Bin Mohammed ignite the stage with their serenading vocals. On December 23, Abadi Al Johar and the singer Mutref Al Mutref will enchant the audience. The Illusionists will be back from December 8- 10 at Etihad Arena Abu Dhabi, ready to take audiences on a magical journey of illusions and wonder. Parenting summit
Shivali Gandhi, the Founder of BeeFull, an enterprise that has launched UAE’s 1st EQ program in schools for children of all ages, will be speaking on emotional intelligence at a virtual Mindfulness and Parenting Summit on Saturday December 9, 2023. Emotional intelligence, or EQ, is a critical skill encompassing the ability to perceive, interpret, demonstrate, control, evaluate, and use emotions to communicate effectively and constructively.
