A CALL FOR HUMANITY IN THE FACE OF GAZA TRAGEDY: In the heart-wrenching conflict in the Gaza Strip, the toll on innocent lives, especially women and children, demands urgent global reflection. The reported casualties underscore a precarious compromise of the fundamental principles of distinction and proportionality. The announced truce offers a glimmer of hope, with a deal to release hostages and additional aid entering Gaza—a commendable step forward. However, the crucial need remains to extend the truce, allowing essential humanitarian relief to reach those in desperate need. The Security Council must heed the UAE Ambassador to the UN Lana Nusseibeh's recent call to break free from paralysis, ensuring humanitarian access to Gaza. As the world grapples with this complex conflict, every child saved is a testament to the significance of the truce, emphasising the pressing need for a definitive end to the crisis. JAMIE FOXX UNDER FIRE: Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has been allegedly accused of sexual assault by a restaurant patron at a rooftop lounge in New York. The survivor claims he made inappropriate advances towards her causing her physical and emotional distress. Foxx joins a long list of famous men in Hollywood who have been accused of similar crimes. Bill Cosby, Sean 'Diddy Combs', and comedian Russell Brand are a few of the recent names that have emerged under similar scenarios. While Foxx's case is still a developing story, it's heartening to see women wronged stand up to misconduct, even if it means taking on powerful men with a lot of clout.
