The Expo 2020 Dubai offer: We don’t really need a reason to flock to the Expo – with its grand pavilions, super shows and activities for the whole family – but they are giving us some anyway. There’s a new dining offer whereby families get a free kid’s meal with an adult’s at some outlets. Where you ask? The list of outlets includes Veg’d, Farrago Express, XSYT and Mudra in the Sustainability Pavilion; Alif Café by farm2table and Farrago in the Mobility Pavilion; Gastro Roots of Hungary in the Hungary Pavilion; Canvas by Coffee Culture in the Opportunity Pavilion; and Garden on 1 – Sports Bar, Kojaki, Baron, The National, Scarpetta, Adrift Burger Bar, Kutir, Long Chim, Bread Ahead Bakery & School, Café Milano, Alkebulan the African Dining Hall, and Rising Flavours.

Pickl: Sandwiches are so much tastier when they are a cool dessert. Get yourself a free ice cream sando (pictured) when you eat at this restaurant this Thursday. Those who dine-in will get the free treat and can pick from the following options: vanilla and salted caramel, double chocolate and strawberry cheesecake.

Italian restaurant Marea in Dubai International Financial Centre is serving diners up a treat this Thursday as well. In celebration of UAE’s National Day, the Michelin-star eatery has crafted a chocolate almond tart, which will be complimentary for all who eat lunch or dinner there. The dessert is made of rich caramelised hazelnut filling and comes with white chocolate creameux.

A traditionally Arabic meal at The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm: On December 2 and 3, you can feast on mouthwatering ouzi, succulent servings of lamb, and end your meal with a stopover at the dessert station. DETAILS: The Arabic buffet-style lunch costs Dh250 (Adult); Dh125 (child). Kids under six years of age eat free. Timing: 12pm-3pm at Cordelia.

Mondoux’s got cake: To celebrate the special moment, this restaurant is baking a special cake that’s in the shape of the number 50. Each patron gets a slice. If that’s not really your thing, you can opt for a freshly baked macaron, beautifully representing the colours of the UAE flag and available in chocolate, coconut, pistachio and strawberry flavours.
