Indonesia: With more than 17,000 islands, Indonesia is one of the largest countries in the world. The South Asian nation offers views of volcanoes, tropical beaches and untouched jungles. Indonesia-bound cruises, which typically sail for 11-15 nights, cover several ports and countries in the region. Options include voyages between Bali and Malaysia, or Sydney and Singapore and the cost ranges from $1,000-$2,000 (Dh3,673 – Dh7,346).

Galápagos Islands: Lying in the middle of the Pacific Ocean are the 60 volcanic rock isles that make up the Galápagos. The only way to really see the islands is by boat, and there are plenty of tours lasting from a few days to a few weeks. A 5-day cruise of the ecotourism destination can cost about $3,000 (Dh11,000), but there are packages starting from $1,000 (Dh3,600).

The Mediterranean: One of the world’s leading tourism destinations includes countries such as Italy, Greece and Egypt. There are 6- to 9-day cruises that can cost between $500-$1,300 (Dh1,800-Dh4,800). The Mediterranean cruise season runs from April through November to avoid the winter months.
