35,000 FREE COVID-19 TESTS FOR DUBAI SCHOOL STAFF: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), in cooperation with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and the COVID-19 Command and Control Center (CCC), has conducted approximately 35,000 COVID-19 tests for teachers and administrative staff working in Dubai private schools. The tests, which were conducted free of charge, are part of the precautionary measures implemented by the Government of Dubai to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community, DHA said. The tests also reflect the Government's efforts to ensure the safety of students and staff across private schools in Dubai.

SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS REMOVED: Facebook and Twitter say they have removed accounts and pages that were part of a Russian influence operation. Facebook said the campaign was linked to Russia's Internet Research Agency. The operation centred around PeaceData, which claimed to be a non-profit news website in English and Arabic. Facebook and Twitter said the campaign had achieved very limited success.

COMRADE DUCH DIES: Kaing Guek Eav, known as Comrade Duch, a former senior figure of the Khmer Rouge who ran the notorious Tuol Sleng prison where thousands of people were tortured and murdered in the late 1970s, has died. As many as two million people are believed to have died under the Khmer Rouge, a Maoist regime that controlled Cambodia from 1975 to 1979.
