The 13th edition of Indian Premier League is due to begin in about four weeks' time, and two of the teams: Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals have assembled at their bases to get down to business. Ambati Rayudu, the middle order batsman of Chennai, goes for a lofted shot at the nets in Chennai. The tournament will be played over 57 days this year, six days longer than usual as double-headers will now be played only on Sundays instead of both days of the weekend.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of Chennai Super Kings, arrives for practice. The former Indian captain, whose retirement has been the subject for speculation ever since the ICC World Cup last year, is a huge fan favourite with the Whistle Podu - as the Chennai fans are known as.
