This week the Desert Rose Golfing Society (DRGS) organised its weekly event at the Els Club in Dubai. A fun day was had by all with 20 DRGS ladies playing in a pairs scramble.
The winners were the team of Kerstin Drossard Schumacher and Caroline Rosenstock with Aileen Johnson and Caroline Smylie in second place. Special thanks to Conor Rogers from Els Club for helping out with all the scoring for this event.
It is a busy time for us ladies at DRGS.
Our future fixtures are February 21 at Dubai Hills Golf Club, followed by Jumeirah Golf Estates on February 23, the same day as the Ladies Inter Club Challenge League 1 event at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and League 3 at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club.
As DRGS membership is growing as we create a genuine UAE wide golfing community for ladies and have ambitious goals for 2022, especially with the growing of our membership involving both golf and other activities, with the mantra of meeting old and new friends and most importantly having fun.
We are planning some rules of golf sessions at future DRGS golf events, in a light-hearted manner, but still get the messaging over on how to deal with certain situations that players find themselves on the course.
The Desert Rose Golfing Society is supported by the Emirates Golf Federation, Gulf News, BMW, JA Resorts and Hotels, Orient Travel, Golf Superstore, Car Buying People and Mediclinic. Membership is open to both members and non-members of the golf clubs with membership of the EGF with a valid handicap a stipulation.
