The Desert Rose Golfing Society (DRGS) has once again confirmed its support of the 2021 Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October.
Our DRGS golfing calendar embraces Pink October events starting on Wednesday October 6 with an event at The Els Club supported by our DRGS sponsors Car Buying People and Mediclinic.
Another Pink October event DRGS is supporting will be the Pink Ball Invitational held on Wednesday October 20 at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club where DRGS has been invited by the ladies captain Joy Lirio to create a full field of 100 female golfers, with 38 players from DRGS.
DRGS flags will be flying at this well supported annual event on the DCGYC calendar.
All the golfers are keen to support these cancer awareness initiatives as it is a global issue that can very close to home and some of our DRGS participants are cancer survivors and others have left us far too soon. These get-togethers enable us to share stories, celebrate those who have survived and are thriving, as well as celebrate those who have left us. We also have guest speakers and visits from cancer experts who can educate us all on preventive measures and how to catch typical symptoms early.
October is when our season really kicks in for both ladies golf in the UAE as well as DRGS. Our membership continues to grow as we spread the word of what we are creating.
DRGS is a non-profit organisation that strives to establish an inclusive UAE-wide ladies golfing community that includes both members of golf clubs and non-members of golf clubs.
Membership fees are Dh1,000 per annum with an active and varied golfing calendar, other social activities, plus so much more, which is delivered through the platform of golf with the objective of reconnecting with old friends and making new friends and having fun.
The Desert Rose Golfing Society is supported by the Emirates Golf Federation, Gulf News, BMW, JA Resorts and Hotels, Orient Travel, Golf Superstore, Car Buying People and Mediclinic.
Stay healthy and happy golfing in October and the rest of the UAE golfing season.
