Ras Al Khaimah: Danish Pro Rasmus Hojgaard led the Emirates Golf Federation team to victory with a score of 31-under par in the curtainraiser Pro-Am for the 2022 Ras Al Khaimah Championship presented by Phoenix Capital at Al Hamra Golf Club. 18 teams competed in this 12 noon shotgun start.
The format was Tour Scramble with the total Net aggregate of all four players in the Team consisting of one Pro and 3 Amateurs forming the Team score. The Pros played from the Championship Tees, the men amateurs from the Blues and lady amateurs from the Red Tees.
Amateurs received Full Handicap Index with a maximum for men of 18 and for ladies 24.
The winning team consisted of Hojgaard plus amateurs, Zeyad Mousa (11), Mohammed Darwish (13) and Masoud Sobati (4).
In runners-up spot three shots back was the Phoenix Capital 5 Team led by Thomas Bjorn (Den) in a 1-2 finish for Denmark.
The first tee time for Thursday’s first round of the tournament proper is at 7.10 am with Marcel Schneider (Germany) hitting the first tee shot from the 1st hole and Richard Mansell (Eng) from the 10th tee with the same tee time.
