Toby Bishop shot a second-round 67 for a 36-hole total of five-under 139 to win the two-day Abu Dhabi Golf Club Men’s Open
The youngster certainly lived up to his potential over the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club over the weekend.
After Bishop’s opening round of 72 he lay four shots back of leader Jake Wiltshire, nestled in fourth place. But he was ready to strike.
Bishop opened up with an impressive front nine of 33 with birdies on holes 2, 5, 6 and 8 to wipe out a bogey on 3, against a front nine of 43 from Wiltshire who had to settle for overall fifth place on 150.
James Nash went out in level-par 36, to be just one behind Bishop after 27 holes.
Bishop continued his strong form on the back nine with further birdies on holes 10, 11 and on the 18th, to return an impressive 67 gross, the best 18-hole score of the week.
