Dubai: An integrated plan to secure Dubai residents and visitors has been unveiled ahead of Eid Al Adha holidays.
Dubai Police’s Events Security Committee announced on Thursday a comprehensive plan aimed at enhancing security and safety of all while ensuring the happiness and comfort of citizens, residents and visitors during the break.
Police patrols
Police said patrols of all kinds on internal roads and highways will be intensified while the field presence of various specialised teams will be beefed up.
Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, Chairman of the Events security Committee in Dubai, assured that the committee works according to the highest standards and practices that will ensure happiness for Dubai residents during public celebrations, events and holidays.
He said and that the Emirate of Dubai was, still is and will remain impressive in its organisation. Security and safety during events and public holidays are important pillars of the society’s sense of happiness and quality of life, he said.
3,500 policemen
Maj Gen. Al Ghaithi said Dubai Police is ready to welcome Eid Al Adha by securing all mosques and Eid Musallas. Patrols will be deployed in all roads, vital and tourist areas, commercial centres and open markets.
Besides enhancing security and safety, they will also be on hard to help reduce traffic congestion through the joint efforts of teh General Traffic Department and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Maj. Gen. Al Ghaithi said the security plan for Eid Al Adha includes the provision of 3,500 policemen, 465 security patrols, 66 traffic sergeants, 165 lifeguards on Dubai beaches, 14 maritime security boats, 10 marine rescue boats, 17 land rescue patrols, 2 helicopters, and 29 bicycle patrols, 5 operating rooms, 123 ambulances, 738 paramedics, 75 civil defence vehicles, 24 small cranes, 2 CBRN responder vehicles, and 798 security men from private companies.
The official also pointed to the readiness of the Command and Control Center to receive and deal with emergency calls round the clock, and work to ensure quick response from relevant teams as soon as possible when they receive urgent calls and emergency cases.

Maj Gen. Al Ghaithi called on members of the public to adhere to the speed limits. This is so as not to spoil the joy of Eid with high speeds, avoid traffic accidents that may result in serious physical, psychological and material damage.
Caution urged for beach/pool-goers
He also appealed to beachgoers to take caution, focus, and pay attention to children in beaches, swimming pools, and all public and vital places.
He also urged bikers and four-wheel drive vehicle users in desert areas to exercise caution and pay greater attention, and avoid dangerous stunts.
Reminder to parents
The official also called on parents and guardians not to allow their children to play with fireworks during the holiday, in order to preserve the safety of their lives, due to its danger and the injuries they cause that may result in burns and various deformities that lead to permanent disabilities, in addition to causing fires threating the safety of life and property, and material and environmental damage.
Committee efforts
Engr Maitha bin Uday of the RTA stressed ib the close strategic partnership between all committee members, and their role in the success of organising major events in the Emirate of Dubai.
She said that the RTA’s readiness is represented by 7 control centres to monitor traffic and public transport, 102 trains, 56 marine transport means, 180 observers and supervisors of public buses and taxis, 11,621 taxis, 9,135 luxury limousines, 1,398 buses, and 10 traffic diversion vehicles.
Tips for the public
Engr bin Uday advised the public to use public transportation, as the traffic management plan for the Eid al-Adha holiday focuses on providing the metro and public buses in a way that helps the public to reach the events venues easily, and cooperate by following the instructions at the event sites, and park private vehicles in the designated parking spaces in the event area.
20 smart police stations
Maj Gen Dr. Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of the Jabel Ali Police Station and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Police Stations, said that the police stations have an integrated plan with the committee and with the partners of each centre to provide services and enhance security, as well as Dubai.
The foce has 20 smart police stations providing smart services around the clock, in addition to the Mounted Police Station, which provides support to all areas in Dubai enabling them to reach hard places, as well as the Ports Police Station.
He called on community members not to neglect and leave valuables in vehicles to avoid theft. He said he is certain that police stations continue to enhance security and safety in all residential and tourist areas in Dubai.
Special applications
Engr Adel Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of the Waste and Sanitation Agency, Head of the Emergency and Crisis Team of Dubai Municipality, called on the community to use the applications for sacrifices provided by Dubai Municipality with the aim of facilitating and planning the sacrifice process during the Eid period, stressing that Dubai Municipality has developed a set of plans related to cleanliness, health and safety, as well as the integrated plan with the security committee, in order to ensure the health and safety of the community in restaurants and hotels, since the holidays are witness great turnout , so the municipality teams work with double effort during these holidays.

In his turn, Mishaal Abdul Karim Julfar, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, thanked the committee members and the high level of joint coordination. “Our goal is to respond quickly to save people’s lives, through the capabilities that have been and in coordination with Dubai Police and partners. We will be available to serve the community in the main areas of the emirate that witness a large presence on holidays, as well as in various regions.”
Integrated plan
Brig Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, said that the Eid holiday coincides with the summer and school holidays, so the General Traffic Department prepared an integrated plan to ensure smooth traffic flow in various areas in Dubai, including the streets of Dubai airports “departures and arrivals.”
Police is working in close coordination with partners at Dubai Airports, in prayer areas, slaughterhouses in coordination with Dubai Municipality, and various streets of the emirate, including the main tourist areas.
923 officers
Col. Firas Muhammad Belhasa, Director of Operations Department, Dubai Civil Defense, said “Civil Defence in coordination and joint work with the committee, are fully prepared for the holiday, as the civil defence provides 923 officers and personnel, as well as 75 vehicles, with the aim of enhancing joint efforts with all partners in the Eid holiday, calling on community members to the importance of being alert and not misusing or neglecting “incense burners” in homes, which may cause fires, wishing them safety.
400 security personnel
Ahmed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Group Operations at Emaar Properties, said Emaar is ready for the Eid holidays, with an integrated plan and in coordination with the partners in the committee.
As the working hours for Emaar teams have been increased, 400 internal security employees have been provided, and 17,000 parking spaces have been made available to serve the community and tourists who visit the malls, and our goal is for the visitor to enjoy the best times during the holiday.
Details of the Eid Al Adha security holiday plan were revealed at a meeting held at the Armani Burj Khalifa Hotel.
The committee was headed by Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, Chairman of the Events security Committee in Dubai, and in the presence of Eng. Maitha bin Uday, Executive Director of the Traffic and Roads Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, Major General Dr. Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Police Stations, Engr Adel Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of the Waste and Sewerage Corporation, Head of the Emergency and Crisis Team of Dubai Municipality.
Also present were Mishaal Abdul Karim Julfar, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and Brigadier General Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic in Dubai Police, Colonel Firas Mohammed Belhasa, Director of Operations Department of Dubai Civil Defense, Ahmed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Group Operations at Emaar Properties, and a number of officers, committee members, and media representatives.
