Sharjah: Four Emiratis were rescued on Thursday evening after their vehicle overturned in the sandy terrains of Wadi Qarha, Al Batayeh, the Sharjah Police said.

The accident, which occurred in a remote desert area, left the passengers with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

The Sharjah Police Central Operations Room received a distress call reporting the incident and immediately dispatched emergency teams to the site. The National Search and Rescue Center provided the necessary support, deploying a helicopter to airlift one severely injured individual to a nearby hospital.

The remaining three passengers, who sustained minor to moderate injuries, received first aid from the National Ambulance before being transported to local medical facilities for further treatment.

In a statement, Sharjah Police reiterated the importance of adhering to safety guidelines when venturing into desert and rugged areas. Authorities urged residents and visitors to avoid risky driving in such terrains and to prioritise public safety to prevent similar accidents.
