Abu Dhabi: Various women in different healthcare roles have reflected on the importance of the Emirati Women’s Day (August 28), expressing their gratitude for the opportunities they have been given by the country and their desire to inspire future generations.
Hind Al Jaber, a physiotherapist at Amana Healthcare, said Emirati women have made a profound impact in their fields because they are passionate and determined.
“In my work as a physiotherapist, I am reminded of the incredible strength and dedication of my fellow Emirati women. Our collective efforts and commitment to our dreams contribute to the prosperity of our nation and the well-being of our community,” she said.
To Hanady Al Shehhi, senior officer, health and safety, Capital Health Screening Centre, success is about inspiring others. “Creating a lasting legacy goes beyond personal success; it’s about inspiring future generations. In my role in occupational health and Safety, I aim to leave a mark that encourages other women to pursue their dreams and make meaningful contributions. Emirati Women’s Day is a testimony to the remarkable legacy we are building together,” she said.
‘This day reminds us to be strong’
Fatima Shamlan, senior social worker at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, said: “Emirati Women’s Day celebrates the strength, resilience and contributions of women in our society. As social workers, we are empowering women against violence and abuse by connecting them with essential social services. This day reminds us to be strong and empathetic role models for women as wives, daughters, sisters, and employers.”
Sara Khaled Albannay, clinical dietitian at Healthpoint, added: “As a dietitian, I celebrate the incredible journey of Emirati women, fuelling dreams and nurturing strength. Let’s embrace the power of health care to honour our heritage and inspire future generations.”
Fatima Aljneibi, supervisor, guest services at Healthpoint, said: “Emirati Women’s Day is a reminder of our culture and the empowerment passed down from our elders through the years. Today, the Emirati woman represents the backbone of our nation’s progress. By focusing on education, health, and self-care towards young minds, we pave the way for a better and healthier future.”
Manar AlRamhi, clinical education manager at National Reference Laboratory, said: “Emirati Women’s Day is not just a celebration; it is a reaffirmation of our role in the UAE’s bright future. It embodies the values of leadership, resilience, and innovation that are integral to the identity of Emirati women.”
Education is key
