The driver of the minibus transporting senior employees of a construction company crashed into the rear of the 70-tonne truck that had stopped in an undesignated area on Emirates Road in the Abu Dhabi direction, behind Al Maktoum International Airport.

December 14, 2006: Sheikh Zayed Road in both directions came to a standstill during the early hours of this morning. A bus carrying labourers overturned opposite the Mall of the Emirates heading towards Jebel Ali while white mini van ploughed into the roof of the bus. Two were confirmed dead on the spot while ambulances and 2 helicopters took away the casualties.
