Hyderabad: A shocking discovery was made when hundreds of stolen shoes and slippers were recovered from the house of a suspected thief in Uppal.
According to media reports, residents of Bharat Nagar in Uppal had been puzzled by the mysterious disappearance of footwear from their homes and local temples. As shoes began vanishing regularly, concern grew among the locals.
Eventually, they realised someone was sneaking into houses at night to steal shoes, slippers, and sandals. Their suspicions led them to search a man's home in the colony, where they were stunned to find numerous pairs of shoes in various sizes.
On December 11, a neighbour had spotted a suspicious man and decided to follow him. Soon, more people joined in, uncovering that the man’s house was a veritable “footwear fortress” stacked with hundreds of stolen shoes, slippers, and sandals—many of which were recognized by their original owners.
It was revealed that the accused and his wife had been selling the stolen goods across different areas of the city. The thefts were captured on CCTV, and the couple was confronted by the residents.
