Dubai: Saudi Arabia has announced that flying taxis would be used for transportation in NEOM.
The first environmentally friendly aviation system is currently being developed, according to Nadhmi Al Nasr, CEO of NEOM City Project.
Speaking during the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, which is being held in Sharm El Sheikh, Al Nasr stressed that NEOM has already used 15 helicopters, which will help the region to achieve its goals. He added that NEOM would provide renewable water sources for commercial and industrial consumption.
NEOM has witnessed the establishment of the first centre to develop clean energy and green hydrogen, Al Nasr said. He went on to say that the centre focuses on innovation and research which aim to protect the natural reserves and environment.
Al Nasr added that efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure of The Line city to accommodate 100 million people living in 5 per cent of its land area and that there is an industrial city in NEOM to speed up the transfer of solutions and technology. The population density in The Line is equivalent to the population of New York and London.
