Itching to exercise your vocal range? Need to let off some steam after work? These eight spots around the UAE are here for you — and some of them won’t even burn a hole in your wallet.
Karaoke in DUBAI
Miss Wang — Dubai
Majestic Hotel’s best kept secret, Miss Wang is a hipster spot serving up pan-Asian cuisine with a side of free karaoke. Their singular first-come-first-serve private karaoke room means you might have to wait your turn, but they also have live music, which is a win.
Open 6pm-3am.
Kung Korean Restaurant — Dubai
Located in Byblos Hotel, Al Barsha Heights, this cosy spot has eight private karaoke rooms. It’s open from 7.30pm until 2.30am. Six-person rooms are Dh150 per hour, 15-person rooms are Dh200 per hour, and 25-person rooms are Dh280 per hour. They are currently offering 50 per cent off (until September 15) from Saturday to Wednesday.
Blind Dragon — Dubai
Blind Dragon describes itself as an ‘Asian-style’ karaoke spot in Al Habtoor City, open six days a week and closed on Sundays. You can book one of five private rooms, from 5pm-1am. A 5-person room will set you back a minimum spend of Dh1,500, a 10-person room Dh2,500, a 15 person room Dh3,000, a 20 person room Dh3,500 and a 25-person room Dh5,500. You can also go down on Wednesdays, from 9pm-12pm, for karaoke in the lounge.
Lucky Voice — Dubai
Located inside of Grand Millennium hotel, Lucky Voice has 11 private karaoke rooms that accommodate between six and 25 people. The rooms are decked out with touchscreens, mini-fridges and free Wi-Fi. The minimum spend comes up to about Dh70 per head, but call in advance to make sure the final price is within your budget.
Karaoke in ABU DHABI
Sura — Abu Dhabi
You can get a head start at Sura in Abu Dhabi, which opens from noon until 2am all week long. The downside is that they only offer two private rooms, so you might have to plan in advance. The rooms fit up to 12 people each, and cost Dh135 per hour.
Karaoke in RAS AL KHAIMAH
Yas Karaoke Bar — Ras Al Khaimah
This karaoke bar in Yas Express Hotel, RAK plays Arabic music in one area and R’n’B music in another. According to hotel staff, the karaoke bar doesn’t offer private rooms, but has a general lounge area where people can sing. The spot is open from 5pm until late, seven days a week.
Good Old Singalong — Ras Al Khaimah
Karaoke the brave, classic way — Good Ol Song which takes place every Thursday at Al Hamra in August and September, asks you to pre-register your songs by phone or email before you attend, and then you get to enchant strangers with your voice. They’re open from 8pm onwards. Free entry.
