Ingredients
100 gms dark chocolate chips or chocolate bar (not cooking chocolate)
100 gms white chocolate chips or chocolate bar
20 gms cocoa butter or whipping cream
1 small cup roasted walnut
1 small banana
5 fresh strawberries
1 chocolate brownie (can be store bought)
Method
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes (melting chocolate)
Serves 2
1. To ensure chocolate is melted the right way, use a pot of boiling water and a stainless steel bowl or heat proof glass bowl. This is a double boiler method - called bain marie. Chocolate is senstive to heat, so you want to ensure you don't burn it.
2. The steam of the simmering water will make sure that chocolate melts gently, into a shiny and silky consistensy.
3. Next, add cocoa butter in the bowl. You can buy them at specialty stores or substitue it with whipped cream. The butter or whipped cream helps the chocolate stay liquid and smooth for longer because of the fat content.
4. Stir the chocolate and butter together. Using a double boiler is the best way to melt chocolate as compared to a microwave because the heat is evenly distributed, and you can also control it.
5. You would also like to melt the white chocolate the same way. Keep it aside. Take a glass or bowl and begin pouring a little dark chocolate first followed by the white. Repeat this a few times, till you see a beautiful swirl of dark and white chocolate rings, forming a pattern.
To dip: you can use fresh strawberries, roasted walnuts, bananas, brownies, marshmallows or any other nuts, fruits you would like to dip.
