David Waite emerged victorious at Emirates Golf Club’s Gents Senior Championship after a strong finish saw him post a gross score of 78 to be crowned champion.
Darryl Cox, who shot an impressive gross 35 on the front nine, narrowly missed out on top spot after also carding 78, but Waite’s better back nine left Cox as the runner-up over the Majlis course. Ken Newell claimed third place with a gross 79.
In the Net Division, Dean Bell’s 71 saw him secure the annual championship after posting four net birdies coming home. Mohammed Akeel, who also shot a net 71, had to settle for second due to a weaker back nine despite making a net eagle on the 16th. Andrew Robinson finished two shots adrift in third spot.
In the Super Seniors, Veneet Mohan went home with the trophy thanks to a gross 86.
