Corey Ferguson fired 43 points to claim the Dubai Duty Free Mark Fahy Memorial Golf Tournament trophy on Friday at Dubai Hills Golf Club.
Dubai Duty Free has supported the Dubai Irish Golf Society (DIGS) since its inception in 2015. Now on its 17th edition, the annual Mark Fahy Memorial Golf Tournament saw 92 DIGS members take on the challenge which runs in Memory of Mark Fahy, a prominent figure within the Irish community here in Dubai before losing his battle with cancer.
Ferguson came out on top in an impressive scoring event where 19 players carded 36 points or better. With eight net birdies and net eagle, Corey finished one point ahead of the Men’s Division winner Ayhem Salam. Emmet Nolan was second and Padraig Kirby third in the Men’s Division.
Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice-Chairman & CEO of Dubai Duty Free said: “As one of the founding members of the Dubai Irish Golf Society, we are delighted to have a good turnout this year and to see new members playing and supporting this event which honours Mark Fahy, a good friend of Dubai Duty Free and of the Irish community. Thanks to the DIGS captain Michael Walsh, my team at Dubai Duty Free and to Dubai Hills for making this year’s event so enjoyable.”
