UAE professional Ahmed Al Musharrekh is to play three events in Cairo in the coming weeks.

Al Musharrekh, the first professional golfer from the UAE, will play three events on the Pro Golf Tour in Egypt: the Dreamland Classic, New Giza Open and Allegria Open.

The 31-year-old had taken a sabbatical from golf, but recently rededicated himself to the game of golf and now plays in this three event schedule beginning this week.

The purse for each tournament is 30,000 euros with Ahmedreciving the support of the Emirates Golf Federation.

The Pro Golf Tour was founded in 1997 and this year it enters its 25th year.

The Tour involves around 16 countries in six countries and is classified as one of the development tours feeding the Challenge Tour, part of the DP World Tour Group.

The top five players on the Pro Golf Tour at the end of the season will receive Category 13(b) status on the Challenge Tour with players 6 – 10 receiving Category 20 status.

“I am really looking forward to playing three tournaments in a row over the next two weeks,” Al musharrekh said. “I was a last minute invite to play in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links on the DP World Tour as well receiving an invite to play in the Ras Al Khaimah Championship at Al Hamra Golf Club. I am feeling good and well prepared.”
