Dubai: Thousands of fitness enthusiasts gathered on Sunday for Dubai Run 2024, the world’s largest free fun run, held along the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road. The event saw participants of all fitness levels join in on this unforgettable experience, with the road becoming a massive, vibrant running track.
Early Sunday morning, the excitement kicked off with activities and artistic performances, setting the stage for the Dubai Run Challenge 2024.
Thrilling highlights included gliders and parachutists from the Skydive Dubai team, adding a unique touch to the festivities.
Participants had the option to challenge themselves with a 10-km route or take a more relaxed approach on the 5-km course. The event, which marks the grand finale of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), is a true celebration of health and fitness in the UAE.

Look: Sheikh Hamdan leads record-breaking Dubai Run 2024
In a remarkable show of community unity, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, led a record 278,000 runners in the Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, representing a 23 per cent rise from last year's event.
"Dubai Run is a testament to the power of community and the commitment of our city’s people to lead healthier, more active lives. The event showcases Dubai's energy, its relentless pursuit of excellence, and the community's growing awareness of the importance of sports and fitness. The outstanding participation highlights Dubai’s emergence as one of the world’s most active cities, leading the way in promoting a wellbeing-focused lifestyle," Sheikh Hamdan said.
"We thank everyone who took part in this challenge and helped make it a remarkable success. Together, we are building a healthier, happier, and more connected society, setting a positive example for future generations. Events like Dubai Run reaffirm our dedication to enhancing the city's quality of life and ensuring that Dubai remains the world’s best city to visit and live in," he added.
